Our NEW PRO Series Models have added Features
Stove Guard International Ltd. (SGIL) has acted on the supportive feedback received from Occupational Therapists, home care workers, fire prevention experts and the general public to produce the new upgraded Stove Guard PRO models, now available.
The 2 new PRO models are available in electric stove or cook top configurations.
The PRO DELAY model has been developed to satisfy most home user’s needs.
The PRO PASSWORD version features password-locking, for managed-care type situations.
An electronic monitoring signal-out feature relay has been added to both PRO models.
The patented Gas Stove Version is currently in the prototype-testing phase and should be introduced soon.
PRO DELAY- Home use version
Designed to make it more difficult for cognitive users to easily change settings, or turn off the Stove Guard.
“Press & Hold” button delay when changing settings.
Fail-safe shutdown if control cable is unplugged.
PRO PASSWORD - Institutional use version
Administrators can set the device to the User’s particular needs, and then lock it's settings with a Password.
Administrators have the option of changing the factory default password to one of their own.
Settings cannot be changed while the device is password locked.
A stove lock feature can also be set, disabling power to the stove, (like pulling out the stove’s fuses).
Automatic Fail-safe shutdown of the stove if control cable is unplugged.
Challenge: Increase the tamper resistance of the EMU (Electronic Monitoring Unit).
Fail-Safe Operation Feature: Automatically disables power to the stove if the EMU control unit fails, or is unplugged.
Challenge: Add the ability to electronically monitor the device & incorporate its use with other fire detection/alarm monitoring systems.
Relay-Out Feature: Able to send a signal out, whenever it disables the stove to an external monitoring device; such as a Phone Dialer, Alarm system, Computer based Data gathering system and optional audible chimes.
Challenge: Prevent the device from being left turned off accidentally by a cognitive User.
Auto-On Feature: If Stove Guard has been turned off by the User, the device will automatically turn itself back on 1hour after the stove is last used.
Challenge: Prevent the stove from turning on after a power failure, until receiving User input.
Power Failure Recovery Feature: After a power failure, Stove Guard will automatically turn itself back on, set to AUTO / 00. Power to the stove is disabled until the User presses any button.
Depending on the model used:
PRO DELAY: Stove Guard will then return to its factory default setting of AUTO/01minute.
PRO PASSWORD: Stove Guard will remember its previous settings & password-locked state. Administrators do not have to reset the units after a power failure.
Challenge: Make the existing Stove Guard model user-friendlier.
Other New Usability Features:
Red blinking Off LED: Eye–catching attention when the device is turned off.
Green LEDs: Shows active functions.
AUTO mode: 15 minute maximum time limit setting.
